Re: Missing Gaussian Blur effect in After Effects CC 2015 Victoria Nece Nov 3, 2016 11:03 PM ( in response to trungdks ) There is a new script that is included with CC 2017 that will enable you to 'upgrade' legacy Gaussian and Fast blurs to use the new GPU-accelerated Gaussian Blur effect (which includes Repeat Edge Pixels). The new Gaussian Blur effect introduced in the June 2016 release After Effects CC (version 13.8) uses a different blur algorithm, not the box blur algorithm. We heard from customers that the Fast Blur effect is still useful, and there was confusion about it being moved to the Obsolete category.
