You can bet on the 1st number being the year 70s & 90s Burnys had serials 80s didn't so. 93 they were still making them but they weren't catalogued then they changed to 'the function' bridges were blank.I think tokai were the only ones to stamp their bridges? Electric Sound Research Group was like the parent company and to be precise RTE-56 I think is a better description. 56 referring to the price it would have sold for 54000Y. Not the year it was modelled after.

Number

Kinda strange they usually went up in price And it's an Alder body. To compare my '96 Thinline. The previous posters are wrong on the year of this initial guitar. It's neckdated November 25th 1983. It's not a serial, it's a date in the format YDDMM. The guitar from the last post here, sticker 101117 is made in Taiwan. The neck should be dated, but due to the logos on guitars and the start of Taiwan production in general I'd assume it's a 1996 model. No solid numbers on how many they made or stickered - it seems like they stopped bothering after the first 5000 or so and just stopped serializing them until they started doing ink on headstock in 2002.

Leading 0 = Japan, which should also be stated on sticker and neck plate. Leading 1 = Taiwan, will probably be stated on the first 1000 or so, then the bottom goes black or cut away. Leading 3 = Taiwan and Korea. Seems like they mixed these up a bit as they're on both Taiwan and Korea stickered guitars. Goes to about 10 000, after which they started inking on the headstock.

Burny models that with RLG-XX. The XX were numbers that indicated the guitar series. The bigger number means the better the guitar in terms of sound and finishing qualities. Take the LP Standard copy for example, there are the RLG-45, RLG-55, RLG-70, RLG-90 etc, the best being the 'Super Grade' model made in Japan.
