Dec 30, 2010 Rating Poorly Designed by: Anonymous I bought this appliance new approximately 5 years ago. Problems have occurred several times some I fixed others are ongoing due to poor design. The first problem, one of the shock absorbers that stabilizes the tub broke, preventing the machine from going into spin cycle because it read it as an unbalanced load so it would only slowly spin during spin cycle resulting in soaking wet partial washed clothes. I replaced this myself. The next thing is ongoing, moldy smell of clothes, the only solution is periodic (machine wash) washing with vinegar and keeping the loading door open between laundry days. After that, it stopped going into spin cycle again resulting in soaking wet finished loads again, checked the shocks and they were still good, after a few diagnostics to check the door and dispenser try sensors I determined that the line to the water level sensor was clogged with a white crystalline powder, this affected the sensor so that it over filled the tub when loaded and under drained the tub on spin cycle which prevented it from going into the fast spin, I fixed this by replacing the original line with a new line (vacuum hose from the auto parts store). The last problem is also ongoing, the dispenser tray allows water to enter the bleach and fabric softener areas during the initial filling at the start of a new load which overfills those compartments and trips the drain for each dumping both the bleach and the fabric softener into the wash prematurely.

Oct 28, 2010 Rating too much to pay to fix it by: Anonymous I'm considered a lucky one. My Frigidaire GLTF1670ASO front load washer lasted for 7 years.

During this time the clothes seems not clean, they have funny smell. I only found out why, when the machine is broken. Frigidaire used a thin extrusion aluminum spider in the back of inner drum. Aluminum is corrosive. With the plastic outer tub and stainless steel inner tub, will speed up the corrosion of aluminum spider.

During the process, it creates bad smell to your clothes. After 4-5 years, with a heavy load and fast final spin will snap the spider. The (only) inner tub is warranty for 25 years, but don't count on it. They won't send the part to you. You must go through 'authorized service personnel'. You have to pay up front, whether your machine is fixed or not.

After go through the process, it might cost you about $300, if Frigidaire approves the replacement, if not $500. Malayalam serial actress. They might not because of the hard water in your area or you don't use front load detergent. It will take about 2 months or more before your machine is working again.

I put my machine to the landfill, unfortunately, I cannot pay to fix the machine for 2/3 the cost of new one, and wait for 2 months. You bet my next one will not Frigidaire nor Electrolux products (Electrolux makes washer and other appliances for Frigidare, Kenmore.).
