From time to time Huawei may release new software for your dongle. Three Mobile Huawei E3231 Dongle Ready To Go 1GB. Huawei 3G/21 Mbps Unlocked E3531 High Speed USB Portable Dongle Modem. 3 Mobile Huawei E3231 ready. I bought a 3 mobile broadband dongle which is a Huawei E3231 model. How fast does androderm patch works. It wont autorun and the shop I bought it from werent much help. I also tried Geek Squad in town but the guy was unfamilar with Linux/Pinguy.

Three's website is useless as some of the help pages provided are broken. Was OK when I looked. Try these suggestions: - make sure to log into your PC with an administrator account before inserting the dongle - if that fails, also try turning off all anti virus programs and firewalls before inserting the dongle - see if any extra USB drive shows up when the dongle is inserted (in Explorer, My Computer, etc). If so check whether you can see a program or script on it which you can double click to run. I've been given a replacement dongle which works perfectly on this pc. There doesn't appear to be a dashboard though, so can't check speed or reception.

I use these all the time. When plugging into a usb slot, your computer goes through installing the drivers to access the dongle. You may only get two drivers installing the first time you plugin. If you restart you then get a list of 7 plus drivers being installed, this happens all the time. You have to plug in and unplug-replugin about three times.

Hi guys, I have just bought a Huawei E3231 USB dongle but it wont connect connect to the internet. I have reinstalled the USB modeswitch x 2, configured the VPN to 3, mobile, internet. The dongles blue light is full on ( meaning its connected to the internet) Firefox will not load, and I get a dialog box saying something about the dongle ( needs Hi Link interactivity)?

Anyone clued up about this dongle? And how to get it working on LM?

I had it working with XP sp3. On XP it connects to 3 homepage first, before allowing internet access, I think this has something to do with the 3 network SIM. I am running LM 10 distro. I had an Orange network Huawei dongle a few years ago, and I had it working on LM and it connected directly onto the Linux Mint homepage. Any ideas to get this dongle working? Hi DrHu, thanks for the links.

I think this particular dongle is different. The computer recognises the HiLink device. It will not run from auto prompt function. When I open the HiLink icon I get a option of 6 other apps, two Linux apps present (1)( Linux Mbbinstall ) Clicking the install gets a VERY LONG OUTPUT but does not install anything. (2) (Linux install app). Clicking the other Linux install icon gets a similar response without any installation There is a readme text for Linux Mbb install but it will not paste onto this page, nor will the other screen shots I have saved onto my pen drive to post. Okay, Huawei have created some sort of functionality for Linux, I am now thinking that I may need a newer distro for this dongle to be compatible with this technology.

E3231

I am going to try LM13. If there is anyone running this dongle, or can make sense out of the HiLink, Im all ears. DrHu,I could not make any sense out of the SETTING UP link supplied, and would need a step by step guide to relate it to the outputs from the two mentioned linux app outputs, but many thanks for the links. I did try Isusb in the terminal but no joy. Any suggestion what to try?

Here are the moves and images of installation of the dongle. (1) I insert the dongle, 2 mins later I get a dialog box Followed by Followed.
